About

Welcome

Hi, I'm Leila. Thank you for taking the step to see if I might be a good fit for you. I'm a licensed psychologist in Washington, DC, and Maryland, and I am authorized to provide interjurisdictional telepsychology (APIT) to clients in any of the 42 PSYPACT participating states. My training, shaped by 25 years of clinical experience, has primarily centered around relationship issues. As a Certified Imago Relationship Therapist and an AASECT Certified Therapist, I specialize in helping couples and individuals navigate relationship challenges. Additionally, I have strong clinical expertise in treating anxiety, depression, and difficult family dynamics. Together, we can uncover the roots of self-sabotage, fear of intimacy, and vulnerability, working to break free from these harmful cycles. By exploring these patterns and making intentional changes, you can begin to create a life filled with wholeness, connection, and authenticity. While the journey may be difficult, the rewards—deeper, more meaningful relationships and a stronger sense of self—are well worth the effort. My clients often describe me as warm, engaging, and approachable, which helps foster trust and safety as we navigate challenging issues together. I take an integrative approach, drawing mainly from Imago, Family/Systems, Cognitive Behavioral, and Interpersonal Therapy. Educational Background: BA in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill MS in Counseling from Indiana University Bloomington PhD in Counseling Psychology from Texas A&M University Advanced Training: Certified Imago Relationship Therapist Imago Advanced Singles Training: Keeping the Love You Find AASECT Certified Therapist Outside of my professional life, I’m a mother to two wonderful teenagers. Parenting has been one of the most challenging, exhilarating, and rewarding roles I’ve had, and my experience as a mom has deepened my passion for working with other parents. I look forward to connecting with you soon!
